Brief description of the project and main objectives

The project is a continuation of the EU IPA funded Phase 1 project completed in 2016 and aims to strengthen the capacity of institutions operating in combating human trafficking in Türkiye and improving the protection mechanisms for victims of human trafficking.

Achievements / expected outputs

The project will prepare a draft of Third National Action Plan based on the Council of Europe Convention on Human Trafficking. Furthermore, NGOs operating in the field of protection of victims of human trafficking will support more victims by increasing their technical capacity. Services provided to victims will be improved by making effective anti-trafficking strategies at national and local levels. Awareness will be raised among vulnerable groups and the public on recognizing victims of human trafficking. Finally, the project aims to provide safe accommodation and basic needs of the victims with the pilot shelters to be established in 3 provinces.
