Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı participated in the National Rural Network Meeting-UKAFEST
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı participated in the National Rural Network Meeting-UKAFEST.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı delivered an opening speech and stated that EU-Türkiye financial cooperation mechanism made a significant contribution to improvement of agriculture and rural development sector in Türkiye with approximately 1.7 billion euros of EU funds since 2002. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı indicated that National Rural Network, with the studies conducted under IPARD, enables dissemination of good practices in rural areas across the country and expressed his wish for the success of this communication platform which plays an important role in rural development.
During the meeting, which the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry H.E. Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli also participated in, the representatives of public institutions, private sector and NGOs exchanged views on the prominent issues under rural development, such as short supply chain, innovation and entrepreneurship in rural areas, rural tourism and support for small farmers.
