Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı Participated in the ''Eco Climate: Economy and Climate Change Summit/Fair'' by Pedaling to Draw Attention to the Climate Change
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı went to the “Eco Climate: Economy and Climate Change Summit/Fair held by Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) by using an electric bicycle to draw attention to the environmentally friendly transportation alternatives and the implementation of sustainable urban policies on 30 March 2022. Deputy Minister Kaymakcı was accompanied by ATO Board Member Nuh Acar and a group of ca. 50 cyclist from Ankara City Council Cycling Assembly, from his office in the Directorate for EU Affairs to the ATO Congresium Center.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, in his assessment of the Summit, underlined the importance of alternative transportation vehicles for mobility, clean environment and healthy life and stated “Promoting public transportation, adding safe bicycle paths to the transportation network, and the construction of an urban environment that will encourage walking are elements that will add movement to our lives. I also prefer cycling as a zero-emission and healthy transportation option.”
Deputy Minister, then assessed Türkiye-EU Relations at the "Türkiye-EU Relations and Opportunities for Youth" conference within the scope of the “Floor is Yours” programme held on the first day of the Summit and conducted an online survey for the participants.
