PROJECT SUMMARY

Brief description of the project and main objectives
 

Nationality determination can play an important role in determining the status of refugees and irregular migrants arriving to our country. Some EU Member States use a language analysis system to determine the nationality of the people applying for asylum or irregular migrants without the necessary documents. The project aims to distinguish Uyghur and Uzbek nationals by using this system based on artificial intelligence.

Achievements / expected outputs

A language analysis system which detects Uyghurs and Uzbeks has been established. The Project also aims to train central and provincial personnel of the General Directorate of Migration Management and law enforcement agencies. The Turkish Bar Association and judges are also included in the project. The project also includes the purchase of equipment for interviewing and recording necessary in language analysis.
