PROJECT SUMMARY

Brief description of the project and main objectives
 

The primary objective of the project is to improve Türkiye’s capacity for disaster resilience by enhancing disaster management systems at the national and local levels. This involves strengthening institutional frameworks, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and building technical and operational capacities to better prepare for and respond to natural and climate-related disasters.

Outputs:

Development of baseline studies and gap analyses for disaster resilience capacity.

Preparation of guidelines, standards, and action plans for disaster management.

Implementation of training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns for stakeholders.

Enhanced international collaboration and alignment with frameworks such as the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and Sendai Principles.

 

Results:

Increased capacity of disaster management institutions, such as AFAD, to plan, coordinate, and respond effectively.

Improved disaster preparedness at local levels through targeted interventions and guidelines.

Enhanced public awareness and stakeholder involvement in disaster risk reduction.

Strengthened alignment of Türkiye’s disaster resilience efforts with international standards and practices.
