The Meeting of the Board on EU Programmes and Agencies Held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay

The fifth meeting of the Board on EU Programmes and Agencies was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, on 21 May 2025 at the Directorate for EU Affairs.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Muhammet Kasım Gönüllü; President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın; Director of the Turkish National Agency for EU Education and Youth Programmes, İlker Astarcı; Deputy Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB), Fatih Gökyurt; as well as high-level representatives from other institutions and organizations responsible for the implementation of the respective programmes.

During the meeting, an interim evaluation was carried out regarding Türkiye’s participation in Union programmes and agencies for the 2021–2027 period. Measures to enhance performance were discussed, and opinions were exchanged on the 2028–2034 period, in light of the Multiannual Financial Framework currently being developed by the European Commission.

Türkiye currently participates in the following Union programmes for the 2021–2027 period: Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, Horizon Europe, the Digital Europe Programme, the Single Market Programme (COSME component), and the Customs Programme. Moreover, Türkiye continues its active engagement in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the European Environment Agency and the EU Drugs Agency.
