Opening of the Trainings of the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights Project
“Learning the EU Chapters: Judiciary and Fundamental Rights Project”, which is supported by the British Embassy under the Reuniting Europe Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and Union of Turkish Bar Associations, was opened with a ceremony on 29 November 2012 in Konya. The ceremony was held with the participation of the Governor of Konya Mr. Aydın Nezih DOĞAN, Ministry for EU Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Mr. Dr. Mehmet CANGİR and Vice President of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations Ms. Berra BESLER.

Within the scope of the project, 350 lawyers in 7 pilot provinces will be trained on EU judiciary practices with a focus on fundamental rights. The lawyers will also have the opportunity to examine the EU practices in the area and to establish network with their colllegues in the UK through a study visit.
