PROJECT SUMMARY |

Brief description of the project and main objectives |
The primary objective of the project is to enhance the capacity for reusing treated wastewater in Türkiye. This includes developing a regulatory and strategic framework, raising awareness, and implementing pilot projects to promote the sustainable and effective use of treated wastewater for various applications, such as agricultural irrigation, industrial reuse, and environmental purposes. |

Achievements / expected outputs / results |
Outputs: Preparation of a National Water Reuse Master Plan. Development of regulations and standards for treated wastewater reuse in multiple sectors (agriculture, industry, environmental, etc.). Implementation of detailed design projects and investment documentation for pilot regions. Capacity-building programs and training for stakeholders on the benefits of wastewater reuse.
Results: Increased reuse of treated wastewater from 1.2% to 5% by 2028. Enhanced legislative and institutional capacity for sustainable water resource management. Improved awareness and technical knowledge among stakeholders. Progress in aligning wastewater reuse practices with EU standards and national development goals. |
