Union Programmes Public Institutions Contact Points Meeting was held remotely

Public Institutions Union Programmes Contact Points Online Meeting was held on June 23, 2020 under the chairmanship of Mr.  Bülent Özcan, Acting Director General of Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation.  

At the meeting attended by managers from public institutions and experts appointed as Union Programmes Contact Point, Mr. Bulent Ozcan made an opening and introduced the new approach in the Union Programs in accordance with the decisions taken by the EU Programs Board on February 4, 2020. Having informed about holistic approach that Türkiye is developing, Bülent Özcan pointed out the importance of integration of IPA and Union Programmes and stated that Turkish institutions has responsibility in this process.

Following the opening remarks, Şebnem Sözer, Head of Department of Union Programmes and Cross-Border Cooperation, informed the participants on the ongoing Union Programmes and 2 Agencies in which Türkiye is participating in 2014-2020 period. Having explained the new programmes in 2021-2027 period, she expressed that the said programmes have the potential to contribute to our country.

Moreover, Türkiye National Agency, the coordinator of Erasmus and ESC programmes; TÜBİTAK, the coordinator of the Horizon 2020 Programme and KOSGEB, the coordinator of CoSME Programme presented their assessments about the programmes.

During the meeting, attended by 78 participants and lasted 2 hours, the structuring of Union Programmes Contact Points at Public Institutions and its functionality have been discussed.

At the end of the meeting, general assessment was made and the expectations from the relevant institutions were underlined.
