The beneficiaries of Cross-border Cooperation Programmes can host young people as voluteer in their projects

Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) is an initiative supporting Interreg and Cross-Border Cooperation Programmes and projects. Promoted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and managed by the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), IVY Programe allows for the involvement of young people in cross-border cooperation projects under European Territorial Cooperation (ETC), Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA) and European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI).

In this context, projects beneficiaries of Interreg IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye CBC Programme and ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Programme can also host a volunteer to support, promote and report achievements of the cooperation. The volunteer will be part of the team, bring new ideas and help realise the project and advertise its results.

The application procedure is simple and AEBR looks for candidates thanks to the partnership with the European Solidarity Corps. AEBR financially supports the volunteer, covers the insurance and helps the volunteer relocate.

Since March 2017, over 400 volunteers have joined IVY contributing to the visibility of projects of cooperation all over Europe.
