Sustainable Universities Workshop Held at ATAUM
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay attended the opening session of the “Sustainable Universities Workshop” held on May 8, 2026, at the Ankara University Centre for European Studies (ATAUM).

In his remarks, Ambassador Bozay underlined that sustainability is a strategic transformation area encompassing not only environmental policies but also economic growth, social welfare, and institutional governance. He highlighted that EU financial cooperation instruments, particularly Erasmus+ and IPA III, provide significant opportunities for universities in line with green and digital transition priorities.

He also stressed that education, research, and innovation remain the most dynamic pillars of Türkiye–EU cooperation, emphasizing the strategic importance of strengthening the integration of universities into the European research and innovation ecosystem.
