Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı participated in the Meeting of European Committee of the Regions Working Group on Relations with Turkey
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı participated in the 26th Meeting of European Committee of the Regions Working Group on Relations with Turkey organized online on 15 December 2021.
In his speech titled “Recent Developments in Turkey-EU Relations”, Deputy Minister Ambassador Kaymakcı stressed that EU accession process remains to be a strategic policy objective for Turkey and added that stability in Turkey-EU relations would highly contribute to the stability and welfare in our wider neighbourhood. Ambassador Kaymakcı, while drawing attention to the impact of the dialogue and the projects carried out between the local authorities of Turkey and the other European countries on Turkey’s accession process, stressed that in the upcoming period where green transition process will take place; closer working relations with the European Committee of the Regions would be of crucial importance.
