PROJECT SUMMARY

Brief description of the project and main objectives
 

With the project, it is aimed to spread data-oriented smart production technologies in the civil aviation, automotive and composite sectors, especially in SMEs, through the implementation of direct digital production and additive manufacturing methods.

Achievements / expected outputs

  • Within the Sabancı University Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Research and Application Center, establishing a facility under the name of "Direct Digital Production Platform" for the use of direct digital production and additive manufacturing methods and data-oriented smart production technologies by SMEs and other stakeholders operating in the civil aviation, automotive and composite sectors and carrying out current situation analysis, capacity building and R&D, product development and commercialization support activities for target groups
  • With the equipment to be purchased (scanning electron microscope, three-dimensional printer, laboratory devices to examine the structure of the material and test its durability in different conditions, etc.) supporting target groups, primarily SMEs, in the process of new product development, in the production of products with complex geometry and to use direct digital production and additive manufacturing methods and data-oriented smart production technologies in the examination (characterization) of the material structures of the products and the performance of durability tests
  • Establishment and commissioning of the "Direct Digital Production Platform"
  • Current situation analysis for SMEs and other stakeholders
  • Carrying out activities to support trainings, pilot implementations, university-industry cooperation and commercialization
  • Organizing promotional activities to raise awareness about the methods and technologies that the project focuses on.
