PROJECT SUMMARY

Brief description of the project and main objectives
 

This project enhances transparency and accountability of Government financial management by means of improving data quality in public accounts.

 

The aim of the project is to develop public accounting system and to improve the quality of the government financial statistics by means of organizing seminars, conferences and training activities on international standards and EU best practices related to data quality; piloting the new system for the purpose of purchasing and using a data analysis and management software in 5 public institutions (Çankaya Municipality, Student Housing and Aid Agency, Labour Agency of Türkiye, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Ankara University) which were replaced during the implementation to meet the requirements of newly amended regulation 5018.

The quality of government financial statistics increased.

Evaluating data analysis software

Implementation capacity of the international public accounting standards in all institutions in the scope of the general government enhanced.

Capacity of accounting control system and assurance of government accounts developed.

Pilot studies related to data quality and accounting standards in each pilot institution conducted.

The impact of the Project activities strengthened by e-learning activities.

A final event held in order to inform the public in Türkiye and disseminate the results achieved by the project.
