On the occasion of 9 May Europe Day 2019 celebrations, “Share Your Erasmus+ Experience and Story on Europe Day-2019” fast-breaking event, which was hosted by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı and Director of Turkish National Agency İlker Astarcı, was held on 15 May 2019 in Ankara.
Nearly 120 participants attended the event, including representatives from EU Delegation to Turkey, Ambassadors, Erasmus+ students who are in Turkey as guests, Erasmus+ students previously benefited from the program and representatives from universities. Erasmus + experiences and stories of incoming and outgoing Erasmus+ students have been shared during the event.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı stated that, Erasmus+ supports both personal and vocational development of young people, creates a stable Europe and underlined that 32.000 projects were implemented within Erasmus+ Programme during 2004-2018 period. Ambassador Kaymakcı added that more than 1.1 billion euros were granted to our citizens and more than 700.000 participants from Turkey were offered education and training opportunities.
