Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik attended the funeral of Sergeant Sefa İzbudak
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik attended the funeral of Sergeant Sefa İzbudak (held in his hometown Adana), who was killed in the line of duty in Bitlis as a result of the explosion of a hand-made bomb placed by PKK terrorists.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik offered his condolences to the family of the sergeant in Pozantı (Adana). Also conveying the condolences of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, Minister Ömer Çelik said:
“I would like to convey our condolences on behalf of the Turkish Republic and its government. I pray that he may rest in peace. We must not forget that it is because these heroic soldiers have given their lives we are able to live in freedom and dignity. You see and hear every day. They want to lower our flag but our flag flies even higher every day with our fallen soldiers. We send our prayers to our heroic soldiers and security forces who are fighting terrorism in our country and in Afrin. I pray that they are blessed in their heroic fight. I pray that our flag soars in the skies and that our unity and solidarity is never disrupted.
