Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Evaluated Catalonia’s Decision for Independence
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator evaluated the unilateral declaration of independence by Catalonia and probable developments during the Channel 24 programme in which he participated.
Regarding Türkiye’s stance on the unilateral declaration of independency by Catalonia, Minister Ömer Çelik said: “We do not find Catalonia’s declaration of independence to be legitimate. We find this to be wrong. In this framework, we continue to support the constitution, territorial integrity and the political unity of Spain.”
Minister Ömer Çelik said: “We find this decision for secession to be illegitimate. This decision will serve no purpose and will hurt Catalonians the most.”
