Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik Was Interviewed by the Anadolu Agency
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik responded to questions regarding the agenda during his interview with the Anadolu Agency.
Minister Çelik, who pointed out that the current model of Europe was unable to solve its problems, said: “It would be suicidal if such a model of Europe- a Europe that is unable to solve its problems- were to take a decision to suspend or end Türkiye’s accession negotiations. Therefore, there cannot be a majority or consensus on this matter.”
Minister Çelik noted that an agreement was reached to continue negotiations with Türkiye at the EU leaders’ summit held in Brussels (Belgium).
Minister Çelik said: “They are talking about decreasing or cutting IPA funds. This is not meaningful. Articulation of such intentions damages the credibility of the EU.
