TAIEX Political Criteria Seminars

“Political criteria seminars” under the TAIEX framework which aims to provide short term technical assistance and advice on the transposition of EU legislation into the national legislation of candidate countries were organized by the Institutional Building Unit of Directorate General for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission

Public sector experts from related public institutions, academics, NGO members, representatives of international organizations in Turkey, high officials and experts from member countries and Turkey were invited to the above-mentioned seminars.

In this regard, 13 political criteria seminars on different topics were successfully organized in coordination with the Directorate for EU Affairs. Until today,

  • Use of Force by Law Enforcement Agencies (26–27 February 2009)
  • Methods to Combat and Prevent Corruption (9–10 June 2009)
  • Freedom of Expression (6–7 October 2009)
  • The Juvenile Justice System and Protection Mechanisms For Minors (13-14 April 2010)
  • Roma Citizens in Turkey (15-16 December 2010)
  • Human Rights Institutions: Turkish Independent Human Rights Institution in line with the Paris Principles (19-20 December 2011)
  • Anti-Discrimination and Equality Board (13-14 November 2012)
