Call for Applications for the EU-Town Twinning Programme within the Scope of the “İstanbul on the Path To EU” Project

Call for Applications for the “Town Twinning Programme” was published on February 26, 2013. The programme will be implemented within the scope of the “İstanbul on the Path to EU Project”. 

Town Twinning Programme is organized in coordination with the Union of Municipalities of Turkey with the support of the Ministry for EU Affairs and in cooperation with the İstanbul Governorate and İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The main aim of the Programme is to enable local authorities of Istanbul to establish partnerships and make common projects with counterparts in the EU member states, thereby facilitating more effective implementation of the EU acquis by local administrations.

Ten Turkish pilot districts in İstanbul have been selected to take part in this activity through a competitive process. The attached fact sheets summarize the characteristics of the districts and their area of interests for cooperation.

EU local authorities who are interested in establishing partnerships and implementing joint projects and activities in the areas mentioned in the fact sheets of the ten pilot districts in İstanbul encouraged to apply for the programme. Local authorities in EU member states may apply to the programme via filling the attached “Application Form” and sending to bozden@tbb.gov.tr until 22th March 2013.
