Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik evaluated the ruling of the Greek Council of State
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik evaluated over his twitter account the ruling of the Greek Council of State to grant asylum status to coup-plotter terrorists who fled to Greece.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik stated that the ruling of the Greek Council of State to grant asylum status to coup-plotter soldiers who fled to Greece after the 15 July 2016 coup attempt was the most embarrassing ruling for any country, and said: “No doubt, this mentality has aligned itself with enemies of Türkiye against Türkiye.”
Minister Ömer Çelik said the following in his message:
“The Greek Council of State ruled to grant asylum status to coup-plotter terrorists who fled to Greece after 15 July coup attemp. This is the most embarrassing ruling possible for any country. The legal system in Greece, which is a member of the EU, has just ruled to protect the terrorists who attempted a coup to overthrow Turkish democracy. It is most deplorable where this unlawful legal notion which protects terrorists against democracy has ended up. No doubt, this mentality has aligned itself with enemies of Türkiye against Türkiye.”
