The fourth meeting of the Financial Cooperation Board has been held.
The fourth meeting of the Financial Cooperation Board has been held on 17 January 2012 under the chairmanship of Mr. Ahmet Yücel, the Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry for EU Affairs with the participation of the high representatives of Ministries which are members of the Board. In the meeting, five Components of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) have been assessed. Further the funds allocated under the mentioned five Components, accreditation process of the Ministries responsible for the management of the Operational Programmes have been assessed. After evaluating the performance of Türkiye for the use of the funds allocated in the year 2011, possible measures to be developed in order to increase absorption capacity of Türkiye in terms of the funds allocated for the upcoming period, particularly for the year 2012, have been mentioned in detail. Another point emphasized during the meeting was the second period of IPA which will cover the years 2014-2020 and the steps to be taken so as to ensure the structuring of the related documents in line with the expectations of Türkiye.
In his speech, Mr. Yücel has touched upon the significance of the performance exercised in terms of use of funds, particularly for the years of 2011 and 2012, which will be determinant for the funds to be allocated in the forthcoming period of IPA. Mr. Yücel has also declared that he believes the strengthened cooperation and coordination among the civil society institutions and public institutions in the Financial Cooperation will be sustained as it was before.
