The Sixth Training Seminar of the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights Project
“Learning the EU Chapters: Judiciary and Fundamental Rights Project” that is supported by the British Embassy under the Reuniting Europe Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and Union of Turkish Bar Associations is continuing. Its sixth training seminar was realized with the participation of the Governor of Manisa Mr. İbrahim DAŞÖZ, Ministry for EU Affairs Undersecretary Ambassador Mr. M. Haluk ILICAK, Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations Mr. Serhan ÖZBEK, Counselor of the British Embassy Mr. Stuart ADAM, President of the Manisa Bar Mr. Zeynel BALKIZ.
The aim of the project is to reach 350 lawyers in 7 pilot provinces via the trainings on EU judiciary practices with a focus on fundamental rights, but the actual number of lawyers appears to be going to be much higher than the targeted level. The lawyers will also have the opportunity to examine the EU practices in the area and to establish network with their colleagues in the UK through a study visit, and also through a handbook and website prepared specifically for the area of justice and fundamental rights.
