The opening ceremony of the ''Technical Assistance for Strengthening Fundamental Rights Sector Coordination Project'' was held
The opening ceremony of the Technical Assistance for Strengthening Fundamental Rights Sector Coordination Project, supported under Türkiye-EU Financial Cooperation, implemented by the Directorate for EU Affairs, was held on 13 May 2022 in Ankara under the auspices of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı with the participation of Delegation of the EU to Türkiye, Central Finance and Contracts Unit, representatives of ministries, public institutions and non-governmental organizations as well as diplomatic corps.
A panel themed “Coordination in the field of Fundamental Rights” was organised during the event. In the panel, cooperation opportunities in the field of fundamental rights with institutions working in the field of human rights were discussed.
In his closing speech, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, emphasized that Coordination of Fundamental Rights Sector Project will support the lead institution role of the Directorate for EU Affairs. He also underlined that projects implemented in the field of fundamental rights within the scope of Türkiye-EU Financial Cooperation have made a significant difference in the EU harmonization process of Türkiye and fundamental rights projects are expected to continue in the IPA III (2021-2027) period.
