THE NINTH YOUNG TRANSLATORS CONTEST
2019
The Directorate for European Union Affairs will hold the 9th “Young Translators Contest” under the auspices of Faruk KAYMAKCI, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, on 6 April 2019 in İstanbul. The Contest aims to raise awareness regarding Türkiye’s EU accession process and acquis translation among the students studying translation and interpretation in Turkish universities, as well as to contribute to the training in this field.
Final year undergraduate students are eligible to participate in this Contest, in which they are expected to translate an EU text from one of the three working languages of the European Union (English, French and German) into Turkish.
The winners of this Contest will be awarded with a certificate of success and the first three rankers of each language category will have the chance to visit the European Union institutions in Brussels.
