Meeting Held at the Ministry for EU Affairs to Prepare for the EU-Türkiye Summit
The preparatory meeting for the EU-Türkiye Summit to be held in Bulgaria has been held under the auspices of the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik, with the participation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The preparatory meeting for the EU-Türkiye Summit to be held on 26 March 2018 in Varna (Bulgaria) has been held at the Ministry for EU Affairs. In addition to the Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the undersecretaries, deputy undersecretaries and high level officials from relevant departments from both Ministries attended the meeting. The matters to be addressed at the Summit and the Road Map to be followed were items on the agenda of the meeting.
The EU-Türkiye Summit will be held under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, during the Bulgaria’s term of the EU Presidency.
At the Summit, matters such as economy, trade, security, fight against terrorism, and foreign policy, as well as regional issues such as Palestine, the Balkans, Syria, Arakan, Iraq and Libya will be addressed.
