Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu’s official visit to Lithuania, 28 August 2018

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu paid an official visit to Lithuania on 28 August 2018.

Minister Çavuşoğlu conveyed President Erdoğan’s best wishes and congratulations on the occasion of the Centennial of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania, at his meeting with President Dalia Grybauskaite.

During the meeting between Minister Çavuşoğlu and Foreign Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius, Minister Çavuşoğlu and his counterpart Linkevicius confirmed common will to further deepen Türkiye-Lithuania relations and cooperation. Türkiye - Lithuania Agreement on Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments was signed. Minister Çavuşoğlu expressed Türkiye’s appreciation of Lithuania’s support for its EU accession process.

Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Deputy Speaker Gediminas Kirkilas of the Lithuanian Parliament and discussed Türkiye-Lithuania inter-parliamentary cooperation and mutual visits.

Minister Çavuşoğlu held a meeting with Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis of Lithuania. During the meeting, views on Türkiye-Lithuania economic relations, fight against terror, and two countries’ cooperation at NATO Alliance were exchanged.
