Erasmus + Programme National Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı

The second meeting of the Erasmus+ Programme National Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı at the Turkish National Agency.

The National Committee of the Erasmus + Program is a consultation platform established with the participation of the relevant Ministries and institutions for the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the programs in the fields of education, youth and sports in order to ensure an effective implementation of the Erasmus+ Programme and European Solidarity Corps Programme (ESC) in Türkiye.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı stated that Türkiye has been participating in the education and youth programs of the EU since 2004 and more than 500 thousand citizens have benefited from the opportunities of learning mobility. Deputy Minister Kaymakcı also emphasized the contribution of Erasmus+ and ESC Programs to the development of human capital in Türkiye.

During the meeting, Turkish National Agency gave general information about the implementations of the Turkish National Agency, Erasmus+ Program’s statistics for 2019, current situation in higher education cooperation, participation in central projects, European Solidarity Corps Program, dissemination and exploitation of project results and upcoming programs after 2020 to the members of the Committee.

Erasmus+ Program National Committee members from the Presidency Strategy and Budget Office, Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, the Higher Education Council of Türkiye, Turkish Employment Agency, Vocational Qualifications Authority also shared the evaluations regarding the implementation of the Programs at the meeting.
