Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı Attended the Closing Event of the Fifth Phase of the Civil Society Dialogue and the Second Phase of Civil Society Support Programme

The Closing Event of the Fifth Phase of the Civil Society Dialogue and the Second Phase of Civil Society Support Programme implemented by the Directorate for EU Affairs within the framework of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) was held on July 27, 2021 in Pia Sera, Ankara.

In the opening session of the event, Director-General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation at Directorate for EU Affairs Bülent Özcan met with the representatives of civil society organizations, who implemented projects under the grant schemes, on Civil Stage YouTube live stream moderated by Oylum Talu.

Civil society organizations, came together within the scope of the closing event, assessed the results of their projects, implemented under the grant schemes, at the World Café session and exchanged ideas on potential collaborations to be built in the future.

In the closing speech of the event Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director for EU Affairs, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı emphasized the importance of civil society during the EU accession process of Türkiye.

Under Civil Society Dialogue V and Civil Society Support Programme II, implemented between 2019-2021, civil society organizations in Türkiye and the European Union implemented 70 grant projects with a total budget of approximately 14 million euros in different thematic areas, including environment, culture and arts, education, vulnerable groups, and business world.
