Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı came together with the employees of the Directorate for EU Affairs in the Opening of Leadership Development Training

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı delivered an opening speech inthe online training entitled “Leadership Development Programme”. The training is organized by the Technical Assistance for Supporting Public Institutions for Tendering Preparations (STEP) Project for the staff of the Directorate for EU Affairs.

Ambassador Kaymakcı underlined in his speech that there will be a growing need in the upcoming period for much more proactive human resources who can closely follow the requirements of the era and easily adapt to novelties.

The STEP Project, implemented by the Directorate for the EU Affairs, aims to ensure the effective and efficient use of IPA II funds and to increase the effectiveness of public administration. In line with this objective, consultancy services and various capacity building trainings are provided in order to support the tender preparation processes of IPA II actions.

The training entitled “Leadership Development Programme” is organized bySTEP Project and willcontinuethroughout September.The training aims to contribute to the enhancement of managerial skills of expert staffin the Directorate for EU Affairs. Throughout the training, participants will learn about the leadership skills needed in a rapidly changing world from competent experts and key-note speakers working in the public, private sector, university and civil society and have the opportunity to enhancetheir softmanagerial skills such as communication, negotiation, team building and strategic thinking.
