Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı attended to the Introductory Meeting of Strengthening of Autism Association’s Consociate Network in Türkiye Project

Introductory Meeting of Strengthening of Autism Association’s Consociate Network in Türkiye Project, implemented by Tohum Otizm Foundation and her partners under the civil society sub-sector of Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA) lead by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, was held on 18 September 2019 in İstanbul. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı and Deputy President of the Tohum Otizm Foundation Aylin Sezgin delivered opening speeches at the meeting. Participants from different organizations were informed about the project.

During his speech, Deputy Minister and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Kaymakcı stated that the Directorate for EU Affairs has always attached importance to close and sincere relations with civil society organisations. In his speech, Deputy Minister and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Kaymakcı also underlined that autism is a phenomenon that should be taken into consideration not only in Türkiye but also in the whole world and indicated the importance of families. Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Kaymakcı emphasized the importance of early diagnosis in autism, stated that autism concerns 5 million people in Türkiye and also the importance of civil society organisation which are working collaboratively for a healthy society.

The meeting ended with the technical presentation of the project.
