Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik will pay a visit to Lisbon on 6-7 September 2016 for official contacts

Minister for European Union (EU) Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik will visit Lisbon, the capital of Portugal on 6-7 September for official contacts.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik, within the scope of his programme in Lisbon, will meet with the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs Augusto Santos Silva, attend the working dinner given in his honour and hold a joint press meeting.

Furthermore, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik will meet with the Chairman and members of the Türkiye Friendship Group in the Portuguese Parliament, as well as the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, in which Türkiye has observer status.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik will also give interviews to the Portuguese press and TV in Lisbon and visit the monuments for the Turkish diplomats who were martyred.

During his Lisbon visit, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik will exchange views with his counterparts on Turkish-Portuguese relations, the coup attempt and measures taken against the FETÖ terrorist organisation in the aftermath, fight against terrorism, Türkiye-EU relations, migration crisis and the recent situation in the visa liberalisation process.
