EUROsimA 2021 Model European Union Conference was held with the participation of students from Türkiye and the EU countries

The EUROsimA 2021 Model European Union Conference, supported within the scope of the EU Communication Strategy was held online by METU Foreign Policy and International Relations Community during 7-9 May 2021.

During the conference, main theme for 2021 was "The Future of Europe", high school and university students aged 16-25 from Türkiye and from the EU countries took active positions on "act a part" and "substitution" in the decision-making processes of EU institutions.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, speeches were delivered by Elif Kurşunlu, Head of the Accession Policy Department of Directorate for EU Affairs, Haluk Nuray, Brussels Representative of Economic Development Foundation, Assoc. Prof. Zana Çıtak, Advisor of METU Foreign Policy and International Relations Community, Selin Kumbaracı, General Secretary of EUROsimA, Yasemin Dallı, General Director of EUROsimA.

Elif Kurşunlu, Head of Accession Policy Department, assessed various aspects of Türkiye-EU relations and the parameters of a possible positive agenda in the relations as well as the future of EU.  

After the conference, the solution proposals related to the issues discussed were shared with public, NGOs and supporter organizations.
