The kick-off meeting of the project" LitOUTer" financed under Black Sea Basin Programme was held online

The kick-off meeting for the project LitOUTER “Raising Public Awareness and Reducing Marine Litter for Protection of the Black Sea Ecosystem”  the beneficiary of which is Karadeniz Technical University and financed under the Blacksea Basin 2014-2020 Programme was held online on 8 October with particpation of stakeholders from the partner countries, including Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania. The Head of Department for Cross-border Cooperation, Multi-country Programme and Union Programmes ,Directorate for EU Affairs, Ms. Şebnem Sözer participated in the meeting as a speaker. Ms. Sözer underlined the function of EU Affairs Directorate as National Authority in programming and implementation  process of the programme. She also emphazised the importance of succesful implementation of projects for sound financing management of the funds.

The project to be implemented by 6 institutions from Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania bordering the Black Sea aims to reduce marine litter by raising awareness on litter impacts on the marine environment and human health by using various educational/training tools.
