9 May Europe Day celebrations in Turkey will commence with a colourful sports event. “The Europe Day Tennis Tournament”, organised by the Directorate for European Affairs in the framework of the European Union Communication Strategy (EUCS) and in cooperation with the Ankara Tennis Club, the Tennis Federation of Turkey, Turkish National Agency and the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, will be held between 10.00 and 17.00 on Saturday 4 May 2019 with the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı.
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, Turkish National Agency, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, embassies in Ankara, and international organizations as well as paralympic tennis players will take part in the tournament which will be held at Ankara Tennis Club. The participants who are fond of tennis and eager to demonstrate their skills will celebrate 9 May European Day with the unifying motivation of sport.
The winners of the tournament will be awarded with trophies and cups by Chairman of the Turkish Tennis Federation Cengiz Durmuş, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı and Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey Gabriel Munuera Vinals.
