INTERREG Cross Border Cooperation Programmes meeting was held in Brussels on 18-19 June 2018. In the meeting hosted by the European Commission, the opening speech was made by Marc Lemaitre, Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy, and Joachim Zeller, member of the European Parliament. In the meeting where information about the current stages in the INTERREG Cross Border Cooperation Programmes and projected changes in the programme rules in the post-2020 period was provided, workshops regarding dissemination of the programme results, communication, simplified cost options, cooperation with external borders and cross border cooperation in sea basins and coastal regions were also conducted. The closing speech in the meeting was addressed by Denitsa Nikolova, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Karl-Heinz Lambertz, President of the European Committe of the Regions and Coriba Cretu, Commissioner for Regional Policy.
In the meeting Türkiye was represented by Şebnem Sözer, Cross Border Cooperation Coordinator and Semiha Öztürk, EU Affairs Expert from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry for EU Affairs.
