Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Ömer Çelik Attended the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition, Featuring Anadolu Agency's Footage and Photos of 15 July Coup Attempt
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Ömer Çelik opened the exhibition featuring Anadolu Agency's (AA) footage and photos of 15 July coup attempt which was held in the Permanent Delegation of Türkiye to the European Union, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Brussels, Permanent Delegation of Türkiye to the European Union and Yunus Emre Foundation.
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Ömer Çelik referred to the photos taken by AA photojournalists and told the guests, including EU officials, Belgians and diplomats, about 15 July coup attempt by Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).
Delivering his speech while viewing the photos, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik said, "What we experienced that night was that the whole nation, not 3 or 5 citizens, risked death and took to the streets in order to protect democracy."
Minister Çelik underlined that heads of various civil society organisations and Turkish delegates of Türkiye-EU Joint Consultative Committee, who also attended to the exhibition, had adopted a stance together against coup attempt that night although they represent different identities and political views, and said, "That's why we want our European friends to understand us well. We protect democracy and in fact, we protect democracy against a very dangerous terrorist organisation."
The exhibition, the opening of which attracted great interest of EU officials, Turkish citizens, Turkish and foreign members of press, will run for 3 days.
