Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır wrapped up his visit to Italy

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır paid a visit to Rome on 28-30 January 2016 to hold official talks with his Italian counterparts.

In Rome, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır held separate meetings with Paolo Gentiloni, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy and Sandro Gozi, State Secretary in charge of European Affairs.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır met with Chairpersons and Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and EU Policies Committee of the Italian Senate and of the Foreign Affairs Committee and EU Committee of the House of Representatives of Italy in a joint meeting. Minister Bozkır addressed the members of Senate and House of Representatives on Türkiye-EU relations, migration management and the fight against terrorism and responded to their questions.

Within the framework of his visit to Italy, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır attended a dinner to be given in his honour in Naples and adressed businessmen and academics.

During his visit, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır also gave an interview to Italian State Television RAI. Moreover, Minister Bozkır joined live broadcast of TRT, NTV and gave interview about his meetings in Rome and the current agenda.

In his visit to Italy, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır exchanged views on Türkiye-Italy and Türkiye-EU relations, progress in EU accession negotiations, cooperation in migration management and the fight against PKK terrorism with his Italian counterparts.
