Press Release Regarding the Participation of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır to the Second Meeting of the Reform Action Group (RAG)

Political reforms constitute one of the most important elements of the EU accession process, the biggest modernization project after the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye.

Reform Action Group, which takes an active role in the preparation, adoption at the Parliament and implementation phases of the political reforms, was restructured with the approval of the Council of Ministers and held its first meeting on 8th November 2014 in Ankara.

The second meeting of the Reform Action Group will take place in Ankara Palas Devlet Konukevi on 20 February 2015 at 9.00 a.m. with the participation of the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Ambassador Mr. Volkan Bozkır, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Justice, Mr. Bekir Bozdağ, Minister of Interior, Mr. Efkan Ala and Minister of Family and Social Policies, Mrs. Ayşenur İslam. During the meeting, which is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the developments with regard to Political Criteria, Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (Chapter 23) and Justice, Freedom and Security (Chapter 24) shall be evaluated in the context of the membership process of Türkiye to the EU and the priority issues regarding the current developments for the upcoming period shall be elaborated.
