Agreement on Türkiye’s Participation in Creative Europe Programme

Has Been Signed


Agreement on Türkiye’s Participation in Creative Europe Programme has been signed by Undersecretary Ahmet YÜCEL on behalf of Türkiye and by Xavier Prats MONNÈ DG for Education and Culture on behalf of the European Union. With the signature of the Agreement Türkiye participates to a very important Union Programme to be implemented in the area of culture, art and media during 2014-2020. Consequently, one of the main actions under Education and Culture Chapter stated in Türkiye’s National Action Plan for EU Accession has been accomplished.

With a total budget of 1,46 billion Euro the Creative Europe Programme will provide grant support to culture, art, translation, film sector and video games during 7 years. Under the Programme 300.000 artist and culture actors across Europe will be funded to be enabled to reach people living beyond their countries. More than 1000 European film will have support for their distribution. At least 2500 European cinemas will receive financial support. Translation support will be provided to more than 5500 books and literary works. Additionally, cultural organizations will find support to their events, will receive training and gain skills that would help them to an international environment and their capacity will be increased.


The participation of Türkiye in the Programme will significantly contribute to its presentation and to the implementation of Türkiye’s New EU Communication Strategy. In the framework of the Programme Grant calls that will be made throughout the year to support activities in the area of culture and art.
