Future Decision Makers Learning about the European Union Institutions

 

More than 300 students from Türkiye and EU comes together in the Middle East Technical University (METU) within the framework of "EUROsimA 2011", a European Union simulation supported by the Secretariat General for the European Union Affairs.

In the EU simulation organized between 28 April and 1 May, the students will learn the European Union institution's decision-making procedures and will obtain a chance to study the compromise culture.

The four-day conference will start with the opening speeches of Hungarian Ambassador to Ankara H.E. Mr. István Szabó, Diplomatic Adviser to Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Faruk Kaymakcı and METU Head of International Relations Department Mr. Hüseyin Bağcı on 28 April  2011 (Thursday) at the METU Culture and Congress Center.

The Secretariat General for the European Union Affairs will host the opening cocktail on the evening of 28 April.

The topics of "European Council in 2030", "Europe 2020", "EU-Russia Relations", "Relations with the World Trade Organization", "Enlargement", "Stockholm Program", "Freedom of Speech and Press" and "Global Financial Crisis and Monetary Union" will be debated by the young participants, at the Ankara METU Campus. The participants will also enjoy a visit to Cappadocia, Nevþehir 2-3 May.
