You Learn the European Union from the "Volunteers"
The European Union Communication Volunteers, a group of dynamic and well-informed young people who aim to raise awareness on the EU, receive their certificates this Sunday from Mr. Egemen Bağıþ, the Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator in Istanbul.
Within the framework of European Year of Volunteering 2011, the Secretariat General for EU Affairs (EUSG) selected 64 EU Communication Volunteers among more than a hundred applicants who wanted to share their knowledge of the EU with a wider audience.
The certificate ceremony will take place after the Communication Volunteers take their first training on April 9-10, 2011 in Istanbul, followed up by another training in Ankara. Volunteers will inform schools and non-governmental organizations throughout Türkiye about the EU, the EU-Türkiye negotiation process and its concrete effects on our daily lives. The Communication Volunteers will also contribute to the implementation of the EUSG-sponsored or supported activities.
