Member of the Turkish Group of the NATO Assembly of Parliamentarians during 22nd and 23rd legislative periods.
Member of Foreign Affairs and Environment Committees of Turkish Grand National Assembly during 24th legislative period.
Chaired the Turkey-USA Interparliamentary Friendship Group during 24th legislative period.
Served as a Political Advisor to the President during his terms as the Prime Minister.
Vice Chairman of AK Party in charge of external relations between March 2010 and January 2013.
Appointed as the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the 61st Government on 24 January 2013.
Vice Chairman of the AK Party in charge of Promotion and Media Party Spokesperson between 13 September 2015 and 24 May 2016.
Appointed as the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator of the 65th Government of the Republic of Turkey on 24 May 2016.
