Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik’s official visit to Greece
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik concluded an official visit to Athens, Greece, on 1-3 November 2016.
In Athens, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik was received by Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras. Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik met with Foreign Minister Nikolaos Kotzias and Alternate Minister for Public Order and Citizen Protection Nikos Kostas.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik also met with Alternate Foreign Minister for EU Affairs Nikos Xydakis, held a joint press conference and addressed Turkish and Greek press. He attended a luncheon hosted by his counterpart.
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik met with the elected Mufti of Xanthi, Ahmet Mete and the elected Mufti Komotine, İbrahim Şerif. Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik received the delegation headed by Niko Uzunoğlu, the president of the Istanbul Greek Universal Federation and Deputies of Greek Parliament who are members of Turkish minority of Western Thrace in Greece.
