Subcommittee meeting on regional development, employment and social policy held in Brussels

13th meeting of the Sub-Committee No.7 Regional Development, Employment and Social Policy was held in Brussels on 20 January 2016 under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Ahmet YÜCEL, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry for EU Affairs, and Mr. Simon MORDUE, Strategy and Türkiye Director of Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiation of European Commission.

During the meeting, recent developments in Chapter 19 Social Policy and Employment and Chapter 22 Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments both in Türkiye and the EU were discussed.

EU and Turkish sides made presentations regarding employment, labour law, occupational health and safety and National Strategy for Regional Development.

Moreover, the steps taken for the fulfilment of opening benchmarks of the Chapter 19 and the technical closing benchmarks for Chapter 22 were also discussed.
