124th Meeting of the EU-Türkiye Association Committee
124th meeting of the EU-Türkiye Association Committee, established in the framework of Ankara Agreement signed between Türkiye and then European Economic Community, was held on 31 May 2016 in Brussels.
The EU-Türkiye Association Committee, which is responsible for monitoring Türkiye-EU relations at technical level, took stock of the association relations and the latest issues in Türkiye’s EU accession process.
The agenda of the 124th meeting of the Association Committee covers the following topics; “State of Play in the Accession Negotiations”, “Political and Economic Criteria”, “High-Level Economic Dialogue”, “Justice and Home Affairs”, “Environment and Climate Change”, “EU- Türkiye Energy Dialogue”, “Transportation”, “Customs Union, Trade and Internal Market Issues”, “Taxation” and “Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance”.
Representatives from various Ministries of Türkiye and officials from EU member states, the EU Council and European Commission participated in the meeting.
Turkish delegation, composed of representatives from the Ministry for EU Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Undersecretariat of Treasury, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Finance, Turkish Central Bank, Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication, was headed by the Permanent Delegate of Türkiye to the European Union, Ambassador Selim Yenel.
