Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır wrapped up his visit to Bucharest

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır paid a visit to Bucharest on 11-12 February 2016 for official meetings.

During his visit in Bucharest, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır was received by Valeriu Ştefan Zgonea, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament and Dacian Cioloş, Prime Minister of Romania. Minister Bozkır also had a meeting with Lazăr Comănescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania. Following the meeting, Minister Bozkır held a joint press conference with Romanian Foreign Minister Comănescu.

Within the framework of his visit to Bucharest, Minister Bozkır came together with Calin Popescu Tariceanu, President of the Romanian Senate, Lazăr Comănescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania and George Ciamba, Secretary of State for European Affairs of Romania at working luncheons.

In his meetings in Bucharest, Minister Bozkır exchanged views on Türkiye-Romania relations, Türkiye's EU accession negotiations, migration management and the fight against terrorism with his Romanian counterparts.

Attending the ceremonies at the Bucharest Atatürk Statue and the Turkish Military Memorial Cemetery, Minister Bozkır laid wreaths at the Atatürk Statue and the Memorial Cemetery.

During his visit to Bucharest, Minister Bozkır also visited Bucharest office of Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) and the office of the Turkish Businessmen's Association in Romania and discussed the role of Turkish businessmen in Türkiye-Romania relations.

Giving an interview to Passport Diplomatic programme broadcasted on Romanian news channel Digi 24, Minister Bozkır also joined broadcasts of TRT, NTV and Habertürk TV.
