Türkiye-EU High Level Political Dialogue Meeting held in Ankara
Türkiye-EU Political Dialogue Meeting at Ministerial Level was held on 25 January 2016 in Ankara with the participation of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/ Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hahn.
At the meeting, the current state of play in Türkiye's EU accession negotiations were discussed comprehensively and also views were exchanged on the concrete steps to be taken in the forthcoming period for maintaining the new momentum gained with the Türkiye-EU Summit held on 29 November 2015. In this regard, preparations for the second Türkiye-EU Summit were discussed. Moreover, migration crisis, visa liberalisation dialogue, fight against PKK terror and other terror organizations which concern both parties were addressed during the meeting. Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues.
