Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır Visited the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır paid an official visit to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on 6 January 2016.

During his visit to TRNC, Minister Bozkır was received by the President of TRNC Mustafa Akıncı, the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic Sibel Siber and Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu.

Minister Bozkır came together with Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Çolak and attended a working luncheon with Minister Çolak.

Minister Bozkır also met with Minister of Public Works, Environment and Culture Kutlu Evren and Minister of Transport Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu during his visit.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır was also awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Girne American University. After the awarding ceremony, Minister Bozkır gave a lecture titled "Türkiye, EU and Cyprus" at the same university.

Minister Bozkır also attended the live broadcast of TRNC State Television BRT during his visit to TRNC.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır exchanged views on Cyprus issue, bilateral relations between Türkiye and TRNC and Türkiye's EU accession process during his talks in TRNC.
