Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır visited Strasbourg and Brussels

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır paid a visit to Strasbourg for official meetings and to attend the fast breaking (iftar) dinner hosted by the Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists (AECR) at the European Parliament on 7 July 2015. Minister Bozkır delivered a speech at the iftar dinner attended by the members of the European Parliament.

In Strasbourg, Minister Bozkır also met with Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Kati Piri, rapporteur for Türkiye of the European Parliament and Elmar Brok, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament. At these bilateral meetings, views on developments in Türkiye-EU relations were exchanged.

Minister Bozkır participated in the Commemoration Ceremony of Srebrenica Genocide held at the European Parliament and delivered a speech.

Minister Bozkır also had a meeting with Sheikh Khalid Bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, Foreign Minister of Qatar who was in Strasbourg on the occasion of the iftar dinner programme of AECR.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ambassador Volkan Bozkır then moved from Strasbourg to Brussels and had meetings with Vera Jourova, EU Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality and Christos Stylianides, EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid & Crisis Management. During bilateral meetings, issues regarding the reform process in Türkiye and the humanitarian aspect of the Syrian crisis were discussed.

Minister Bozkır received Stefano Manservisi, Chief of Cabinet of EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini and exchanged views on Türkiye-EU agenda

Minister Bozkır also attended the iftar dinner in Brussels hosted by AK Party Brussels Office with the participation of opinion leaders in Europe. Minister Bozkır delivered a speech at the iftar dinner.
